Specialist Leaders of Education (SLEs)
NEXUS have recruited a team of exceptional Specialist Leaders of Education (SLEs) from within NEXUS and beyond. These outstanding practitioners with specialisms in Literacy, Numeracy, Computing, SEND, EYFS and ITT/NQT development will be available to support schools at all levels of school improvement. There are currently just over 6000 SLEs across the country who are designated by the National College for Teaching and Leadership. They are all middle or senior leaders with successful track records.
We believe the best support comes from current practitioners supporting each other, sharing good practice and working collaboratively to improve outcomes for pupils. Our SLEs are available for half (£220) or full day (£375) sessions, the focus and structure of which are planned with you to ensure you get exactly the support you require.
If you would like some school to school support please contact us on 01454 867400 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
As well as our SLE's we have many quality assured outstanding Lead Practitioners who can support development and improvement and have worked with many schools in the area.
Lead Practitioners (LPs)
NEXUS have also quality assured several outstanding classroom teachers as Lead Practitioners who are available to support colleagues in other schools. They have a wide range of specialisms from SEND to SBM to Teaching and Learning and have worked to support development in other schools through coaching, mentoring, team teaching, model lessons and planning support.
How can I become a SLE?
Are you are an experienced middle or senior leader who is looking for an exciting opportunity to extend your impact in your school to support leaders in other schools? Do you know what outstanding leadership in your area of expertise looks like and are you skilled in mentoring, supporting and developing others to achieve it in their own context? If so, there is an opening for you to become a SLE. Nexus TSA are looking to designate a further four outstanding Specialist Leaders of Education (SLEs) to support and work with schools in order to impact on practice, leadership and outcomes across the local area and beyond. Our current SLEs have supported colleagues in more than 15 schools since in the last two years.
To become an SLE, you need to have been in a leadership role for at least 2 years. We welcome applicants from any school - you don’t need to be in an outstanding school or in NEXUS, as long as your school has the capacity to release you to work in other schools.
We are looking for SLEs with a specialism in any are but in particular English, Maths, Science and Teaching and Learning.
Designation to this role would be for 4 years and, following a training period, you would be required to support other colleagues for up to 16 days each year. Applications must be supported by your own Head teacher.
